What is BSNL Safe Custody
A safe keeping of BSNL technical infrastructure related to the subscribed line of BSNL Landline / Broadband / Fiber to the Home services with nominal charges with the existing details by disconnecting the BSNL telecom services, when not using for certain period of time is BSNL Safe Custody.
The charges collected against Safe Custody when requested by the customer is same for all the customers of Metro cities / Urban areas, but differed to Rural areas upon request, previously, there is no availability of Safe Custody for FTTH services, but now it is available up to a maximum period.

The above charges are applicable with effect from 5th May 2009.
Minimum Period for Safe Custody
The minimum period to activate BSNL Safe Custody on any Landline Broadband or Fiber to Home Services is Three Months, where the customer will have to pay the advance rental charges for Safe Custody for minimum period.
How to activate BSNL Safe Custody
Just approach your concerned area BSNL commercial officer or Customer Service Center and submit your written request for activation of BSNL Safe Custody plan by mentioning the required date for disconnection of the Landline / Internet services.
Until the return request from the concerned subscriber for activation of normal services, the required service is not activated, So, when a customer arrived into their location can have to submit written request again to BSNL for activation of services upon closure of Safe Custody.
How to keep BSNL Broadband in Safe Custody
- BSNL Broadband is an additional service on Landline, so please disconnect Broadband and apply for Safe Custody of Landline.
Keeping BSNL Landline or FTTH under safe custody is a kind of disconnection of service temporarily for a certain period of time and to reduce the charges up to 90%, so customers can utilize this opportunity of BSNL, if not using the telecom services for certain period.
