PAN India Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has simplified the procedure for BSNL 4G SIM upgradation on replacement with existing 2G / 3G SIM under GSM mobile services with new easy adopted Pre format SMS steps validates through OTP on BSNL customer prepaid mobile for activation of the new BSNL 4G upgraded SIM within 15 minutes of time.

All the customers who have verified with eKYC are allowed to upgrade with the new BSNL 4G SIM process, where the existing customers who haven’t completed the KYC process may approach the nearest CSC of BSNL of the same circle along with authorized POI and POA document to upgrade with BSNL 4G SIM card.

Let’s have a look at the step by step new SIM upgradation process with BSNL 4G SIM initiated from customer and CSC or Channel Partner.

How to Activate BSNL 4G SIM

BSNL 4G SIM Swap initiated by Customer

Step 1: BSNL 4G Unpaired (empty) SIM will be handed over by CSC/Channel partner to Customer at his premises or at Channel partner outlet without any sale entry in either BSNL Sancharsoft database or Sanchar Aadhar App.

Step 2: Customer has to send two SMS through his existing working BSNL mobile number for which he sought 4G SIM Upgradation to initiate and confirm the swap activity respectively by confirming with circle code mentioned in below table.

First SMS

RE4G <space >6 digits / 12 digits / 19 digits SIM number <space> Circle short code

Example:

  • RE4G 123456 GJ to 53734
  • RE4G 123456123456 GJ
  • RE4G 8994545123456123456 GJ

After sending this first SMS an acknowledgement SMS will be received by Customer for BSNL 4G SIM upgradation from BA CYMN asking him to confirm his SIM swap request through second SMS to proceed for SIM replacement.

Second SMS

RE4G<space>YES to 53734

Ex: RE4G YES

After sending this second SMS, a confirmation SMS will  be received by the customer from BA CYMN.

Step3 : Swap request received through above two SMS received by the customer will be moved to respective zonal Sancharsoft database for completing the BSNL SIM replacement process through zonal billing system.

Step4 : After successful BSNL 4G SIM Swap, the call services will be activated on new 4G SIM issued barring SMS service for next 24 hours (maximum time).

BSNL 4G SIM swap process initiated by CSC/Channel partner based on Customer request

Step 1: SIM will be handed over by CSC/Channel partner to Customer at BSNL CSC/Channel partner outlet.

Step 2: There will be sale entry in either Sancharsoft or Sanchar Aadhar App.

Step 3:  Sancharsoft or Sanchar Aadhar App will send a pre formatted SMS to customer to confirm his SIM swap request placed at CSC/Channel partner outlet

Step 4: Customer has to send this received pre-formatted SMS through his existing  working  BSNL  mobile  number  for  which  he  sought  4G  SIM  up gradation to confirm the swap activity.

Preformatted SMS

RE4G<space>19 digits SIM number<space>Circle code to 53734

After sending this SMS a confirmation SMS will be received by Customer from BA CYMN

Step 5: Swap request received through Sancharsoft / SancharAadhar and confirmed by customer through above SMS will be enabled for zonal billing fetching to complete the SIM replacement process

Step 6: After successful swap call services will be activated on new SIM issued barring SMS service for next 24 hours.

    my sim nos are 8991746100000014398, but I getting the sim is not 4G sim. no customer care no for gettig help.and cc no is not getting any response.

    I am facing an issue regarding sim swap to 4G. I have triple checked, I have a sim with no. +9189022 03*** of West Bengal circle on my name, As I have job here at andaman and 4G services are active here so im willing to swap my 3G west bengal sim by staying at Andaman, I have Got an empty 4G sim from Andaman’s bsnl office which is “NOT registered” in sanchar soft. Then as per self registration process i have send the SMS RE4G(SPACE)New 4G sims 19 DIGIT NO. (SPACE)WB TO 53734 from Andaman and i got a message Dear Customer, this is not a 4G SIM, please try with valid 4G SIM issued by BSNL. I TRIED 3 TIMES AND SAME MESSAGE IS RECIEVED. SO I TRIED NEXT TIME BY SENDING AREA CODE 70 INSTEAD OF WB BUT THE SAME MESSAGE.
    This message does not make any sense. I mean if i had a 4G sim already then why would i swap my existing West Bengal 3G sim to 4G again.

    • Ask someone to go to the BSNL office and buy a new sim and then you send SMS from Mumbai to BSNL with new sim numbers and new sim will be activated and you ask him to courier you to Mumbai

  14. I went to near by BSNL office to convert my 3G sim to 4G sim, but the a person who is working in out sourcing asking me to pay 150 rupees for conversion, I’m not interested with that price as I have validity for some more days, It is bearable if it is 50 rupees for the conversion.

    • Replacement SIM may activate only in Home circle, but if you change this permanently to other circle, then try to Port the same number with MNP with new 4G SIM.

    • Please reinsert the new SIM in your mobile, even it is not cleared, please approach nearest CSC and please check the reason.

    • If your area is launched with 4G services, then it automatically enables by selecting 4G network in your mobile.

    • There is no chance to keep old SIM into active, because when new SIM swapped by BSNL authorities, automatically the old SIM will deactivates and new 4G SIM comes into live.

    • Disable your internet connection from CSC or call center, nit from your mobile, it is a sim fault wherein amount gets deducted if you have no valid data pack.

    • If your are provided with Dual IMSI International Roaming SIM for prepaid or postpaid services, your services will be in active, if not, it is disconnected until when reaches to India, and if you already provided with Dual IMSI International Roaming SIM, please check your balance in prepaid or bill dues if it is postpaid.

      • If you already having 4G SIM of BSNL with or without International roaming, you may continue with that, no need to swap again, even if you require, then Swap it with new 4G SIM by approaching nearest retailer/customer service center.
