Minimum Broadband Speed Increased to 4Mbps, Here is the Latest Plans

Recently we have informed you that, our telecom is going to increase the BSNL minimum broadband speed up to 4Mbps. Today it is announced, and most of the plans of All India and circle specific is going to serve with the minimum of 4Mbps speed.

Up to now, most of the BSNL broadband plans in India allows the base speed at 2Mbps only. Now this BSNL minimum broadband speed revision will create a new history in Indian broadband market. BSNL also revealed the unlimited internet plans which offer with a minimum of 4Mbps speed.

BSNL Minimum Broadband Speed

In this year, Internet usage in mobile and desktop/laptops or through WiFi comes into a peak. It proves with the massive growth of BSNL mobile connections in March 2017. Because of the tremendous growth and to offer high-speed internet to wired line broadband customers, PSU decided to increase BSNL minimum broadband speed to 4Mbps.

There is no change in providing voice call benefits like an unlimited free calling. The biggest thing is FUP limit. Almost in all the plans, now it is overridden with new promised speed.

At this revision, starting base tariff plan Experience 249 and 499 didn’t get revised due to some limitations. The Cap limit or Fair usage policy (FUP) limit in almost all the plans has also increased to a maximum extent up to 100% with new speeds. The most trending plan BBG Combo ULD 1199 has also now offered 4Mbps speed with some cap limit.

Indian broadband customers can also expect some other basic broadband plans below Rs.300 with a minimum of 4Mbps. We expect this may also be possible shortly.

From 01.08.2016, BSNL increased the post FUP speed from 512Kbps to 1Mbps. Now from 1st May 2017, pre FUP limit increases to 4Mbps as BSNL minimum broadband speed, then what we may expect in this August 2017. Think about that and post your comments.

  1. I use BBG ULD 1199, would have bden nice to get flat 4Mbps 😛 that said, even with my flat 2Mbps, the actual speed I’m getting is 3-3.4Mbps, dont ask me how. I wasn’t previously on the ULD1445 plan before 1199 released, maybe there was some glitch.

  2. Dear@ BSNL, Please launch 4mbps Flat speed plan. Playing sales gimmicks now won’t help your dedicated customers. Have a heart and do the right thing. Now is the right time. If you don’t, then there are other players in the field now, waiting to grab your customers. Think again!

  3. I am using BBG ULD 1199 plan which gives flat 2Mbps speed, it would be great to get flat speed of 4Mbps in this Plan.

From when will this change of speed be effective,

    Eagerly awaited move from BSNL.

  4. Again useless plans, I’m sure it is not a piece of news to publish, but you officials should know that you cannot attract customers by introducing such crappy plans, mind that your clients are migrating. ( It is a joke that 2Mbps is now 4mbbs but FUP is 5GB. LOL😁)

    • Believe in govt organization. No hidden charges. Channel to solve complaints. There is no such in private companies.

  5. “The Cap limit or Fair usage policy (FUP) limit in almost all the plans has also increased to a maximum extent up to 100% with new speeds.”

Disappointing gimmick. Had BSNL cared, it’d have rather increased the post FUP speed by at least 100%? As the speed before FUP limit doubles, the bandwidth with which the data will consume will also increase. So, while strategically raising the FUP limit may be a great move, it hardly helps the users.

“At this new revision, base tariff plans BSNL Experience 249 and 499 didn’t get revised.” Why?

  6. Minimum Broadband Speed does not increase. It is 2 Mbps till now. I think these are just rumors. My Modem Statistics shows Downstream Connection speed 2047 Kbps

  7. I hope one month was enough for you to overcome your limitations, and that the conditions will be accordingly revised for 249 and 499 tariff plans too. We’ll know by tomorrow (1st June). Try to be fair and competent.
